The consulting engineers office VSU GmbH was founded by Professor Dr.-Ing. Wilfried Ruske and Professor Dr. Dr.-Ing. Felix Huber in the year 1993. It is a „spin off” from “Institute for technical town planning” of RWTH Aachen. Working fields of the VSU are transportation planning and town planning. Special emphasis is laid on urban traffic systems. In context with transportation planning urban strategic plans are provided as well. Therefore the group of co-workers is interdisciplinary assembled. Town planners, traffic planners and regional planners work together. Clients are municipalities and project developers.
Technical work is characterised by the highly pronounced communication with architects, urban planners and civil engineers. Large-scale development projects have become an important field of work. VSU elaborated transportation solutions for the head offices of the German Post AG as well as for a new settlement in Cologne with 4.000 Inhabitants.
The consultant engineers VSU have participated with several urban development projects. The computation of traffic volume as well as solutions for the road-systems and Cable-Car-Solutions were provided for housing- and business areas especially in Bonn.
