IMPRESSIONS FROM THE FAIR

I traveled to "Cable Car World" in Essen with great interest to find out about ropeway solutions. I was able to have good technical discussions with competent contacts. Cable cars can be put to good use here in Thuringia. We could be pioneers in one of the most innovative areas of the mobility revolution. I am committed to this in order to promote tourism in our region and, with a modern transportation infrastructure, to create better connectivity options for local residents as well. A cable car could open up the western Thuringian Sea region for tourists, day trippers and residents alike. Even completely new settlement concepts including ropeway mobility would be conceivable in Thuringia, for example in Jena and other cities. The fact that the topic is also a high priority in the German government became apparent at the booth of the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV) at the Essen trade show. For years now, the ministry has had its own ropeway working group, from which projects are planned throughout Germany and feasibility studies are initiated. More than 50 million euros in subsidies are available for municipalities that want to become active and implement ropeway projects. With the knowledge gained at "Cable Car World" in Essen and the contacts made there, I will bring the enthusiasm for ropeways to Thuringia and promote the idea to municipalities, district councils and investors so that it can become something more.
Reginald Hanke MdB, FDP, Member of the Committee on Petitions, Member of the Committee on Tourism
Cable Car World is the best opportunity for the cable car industry to focus on urban solutions. We can present the unique advantages of urban cable cars at a specially organized trade fair. I would like to see the event continue on a regular basis after its successful launch.
Daniel Fässer, Head of Sales West & Marketing, Bartholet
Cable Car World is a joint initiative of the cable car industry to promote the advantages of cable cars in urban areas to opinion leaders and decision-makers. We see ourselves as shapers of the future in the context of the mobility revolution and want to firmly establish the cable car in Europe's major cities. Information exchange on the topics of sustainability, profitability, social impact and technology were the main focus.
Jürgen Pichler, Head of Group Marketing, Doppelmayr Seilbahnen
An extremely successful premiere of Cable Car World with a high-caliber lineup. All those people who deal with the topic of urban mobility with cable cars in Germany were present. It's great to see that participants, experts and exhibitors are equally passionate about a common goal, namely to position the cable car as an attractive supplement to public transport.
Gotthard Schöpf, Head of Marketing, LEITNER AG
The congress was very successful and the trade fair perfectly organized. We feel the awakening in urban mobility and the need for urban cable cars. The visitors showed us that the transport solution on the cable is politically desired. The exhibitors again proved that there are products and services for every topic.
Christian Kleinenhammann, Regionalleiter West, Transdev Deutschland
We are happy to have participated in the first Cable Car World. It was gratifying to see how great the interest is in this sustainable and completely underestimated means of transport. The lively discussions with representatives from the entire industry made it clear where there is still a need for action and education. But in any case, it was clear that there is a fundamentally positive attitude towards urban ropeways in society. This is precisely where we come in and continue to advise cities and municipalities on the feasibility of their specific projects - for a future fit for grandchildren.
